Admissions, fees & funding
On this page you should be able to find all the information you need about our admission procedure, our fees and funding information.
How to Apply
Before applying for a place we recommend you come to visit us to see if we are a good match for you and your family. We like to do our show-arounds at 10.15am where possible. This gives you the chance to see Pre School in full action so you get a real feel for what it is like if you choose to join us.
Once you have visited us, met the staff and children and we have discussed availability we can send you a link to complete the Registration form. Once the registration form has been completed your child’s place will be secured for your chosen start date. At the time of registering your child we will ask you to pay for the Pre School Starter Package which costs £25. The starter package includes a Pre School T Shirt, changing bag, bookbag and 2 settling in sessions. Please note your place will not be secured until we have received your registration form back.
1. Will you hold a place for my child?
If your child is due to start at the beginning of the academic year in September we will hold your required days/sessions. We try our best to accomodate people’s requests and understand that you may need to start in the middle of the academic year. We will aim to hold your requested dates where possible but we cannot guarantee this until closer to the time. Please discuss this during your visit or initial call.
2. Do you accept 15 and 30 hour Government Funding?
Yes, we accept 15 hours funding for children aged 2 with working parents, we also accept Golden Ticket funding for low income families for 2 year olds. We also accept both 15 hour and 30 hour 3-4 year old funding.
3. Can I increase my child's hours as they get closer to starting school?
Yes, if we have availabilty we are happy to increase your child’s hours in preperation for school. We will guarantee your hours from September. If you would like to increase your hours part way through the academic year we will do our best to accomodate you but cannot guarantee this.
4. When should I enrol my child to guarantee a place?
The earlier the better! We usually have spaces available for September starts as our older children move on to school. We are however restricted to only taking 20 children per day so spaces get booked up very quickly.
5. Can I view your admissions policy?
Absolutely, you can view all our policies here >

Childcare Funding
We understand childcare costs are a big expense for many families. We try to keep our rates as affordable as possible whilst providing high quality childcare with low ratios. We do not restrict when you can use your funded hours. Below are some of the funding options you can apply for and use when your child attends Parley Pre School.

Voluntary Contribution Explained
When a child attends Pre School using their Government ‘Funded’ hours the amount we receive does not fully cover all the extra experiences and activities that we offer. Government funding is intended to cover basic provision for Early Years settings. We like to use the analogy of Lemonade…

Lemonade is fine, it does the job and it’s a nice drink. As an Early Years setting this would mean;
The setting is fine, it does the job…
children are cared for with the maximum number of children for ratios, they have basic facilities like crayons, pencils, paper, jigsaw puzzles, lego, sand and water, an outside space to run around and the children are kept safe.
Most Nurseries and Pre School’s don’t want to be Lemonade….they want to be Champagne!
Our Voluntary Contributions allow us to give our children to have the best experiences;
low adult:child ratios for the upmost care, highly trained staff who continually improve with professional development, all staff to be fully pediatric first aid trained (not just one member of staff), staff to have allergy training, access to activities and resources that enhance their learning and enjoyment, having a highly ambitious curriculum, opportunities to do baking, gardening, making slime, having playdough, go on woodland walks wearing splash suits, being safe with high vis jackets, having bikes and scooters to use, to have the option of healthy foods including toast, cereal, yoghurt, fruit for morning snack, to have afternoon snack to include things like cheese, carrot, malt loaf, humous, crumpets, fruit, breadsticks, crackers, cucumber, to have food and drink that meets dietary requirements, to have high quality resources that can be replaced if they get broken or damaged, to be able to enhance the setting when needed for example when we installed security fencing, to be able to enhance/decorate the room each year to keep it fresh and an inviting space, to have a wide variety of art experiences, to have celebrations, to have the opportunity to attend stay and play sessions, to have access to books to take home, parent packs for help, tapestry so you can see their photos, sensory equipment, to go on the bus, to go pumpkin picking, to have a Christmas gift, to take part in our Countdown to Christmas activities, to enjoy an end of year party, ice lollies and water days in the summer and probably a lot more!
